We tell our Broken Arrow customers that for an hvac system to work properly, the coils on the condensing unit need to be as clean as possible. Your hvac system cools your house by picking up heat at the evaporator coil and then transferring that heat via refrigerant to the condenser where it is then condensed and cooled. Some condensers are louvered and cause grass and other debris to get caught against the coils. On older systems, the easiest way to clean these is to remove the top and spray from the inside out and then wash the debris from the louvers. Some of the newer systems like the Armstrong in the photo have panels around the unit that are easily removable for cleaning. Very dirty condenser coils can cause a system to nearly quit cooling.
